Lead poisoning or syphilis? Neither killed Caravaggio, says a Naples professor in a new book. Instead the master artist was slain and dumped in the sea by the Knights of Malta—with the Catholic Church’s blessing.

Famous for his portraits and nudes, Lucian Freud was one of the most influential artists of his generation. Now, six months after his death, two major exhibitions showcase his distinctive work - at the National Portrait Gallery in London, and Pallant House Gallery in Chichester.

During his 20 years as the artist’s assistant, model and friend, David Dawson witnessed the creation of some of Freud’s most celebrated works. Here, as some of his own art also goes on display in Chichester, he gives a unique insight into what life was like in the notoriously private world of Lucian Freud.

Body painting may come in many forms. A good form of body painting manages to hide nudity and replace it with paint. And if you catch a glimpse of these women, you’ll see that Danny Setiawan replaced nakedness with famous artworks.
